1. What this is

VocalGuru is a demo practice tool run by Nuvam AI. You upload a song, it uses AI to separate the vocals from the music, and then compares your singing with the original to give you feedback. We provide the tool. We don't provide, sell, or license any music.

It's a demo: it may change, slow down, or go offline, and it may be shut down at any time. By signing in and using it, you agree to these terms.

2. Your content is your responsibility

• Only upload audio you own, created yourself, or have permission to use.
• Most commercial music is protected by copyright. Separating it into vocals and music doesn't change that, and the results are still subject to the original rights.
• You're responsible for what you upload and for anything you do with it, including making sure your use is lawful where you live.
• If you get audio from another site or app (for example, a video platform), following that site's own rules is up to you.

3. Personal, private use

• Use VocalGuru for personal practice and learning. Don't use it to distribute, sell, or publicly perform music you don't have rights to.
• Tracks you add are private to your account. Other users can't see or play them.
• Your voice recordings are uploaded only to analyze your singing. They're kept temporarily for that purpose, aren't shared or published, and aren't used to identify you.

4. Practice time and fair use

• New accounts get a one-time welcome allowance of practice time, which expires if unused after one month. After that, each account gets a set amount of practice time per day. Singing and comparing count toward it; browsing and switching tracks don't. The current amounts are shown in the app.
• Don't try to get around those limits, overload the service, or access other people's content or keys. Keys are personal: don't share yours.
• Don't upload anything illegal, harmful, or that you don't have the right to share with us for processing.

5. Who can use it

You must be 13 or older to use VocalGuru. If you're under 18, use it with a parent's or guardian's permission. Access keys are issued by invitation and are personal to you.

Why 13? US law (the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, COPPA) requires a parent's verified consent before a service collects personal information, including voice recordings, from children under 13. VocalGuru isn't designed for children and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has used VocalGuru, we'll close the account and delete their recordings, songs and account details. Parents who believe their child has used VocalGuru can contact dmakhija@nuvam.ai.

6. Feedback is automated

Scores and coaching tips are produced automatically from audio measurements. They're estimates to help you practice, not professional vocal instruction or a judgment of your ability. They can be wrong, especially with noisy recordings or older songs.

7. Copyright concerns and takedowns

If you own the rights to material and believe it has been processed or stored here without permission, email dmakhija@nuvam.ai. Please include:

• the work you believe is affected, and how you hold the rights to it;
• enough detail for us to find it (for example, the track name or the account involved);
• your contact details, and a statement that the information in your notice is accurate.

We'll review notices promptly and remove the material where appropriate. We disable the accounts of people who repeatedly upload content they don't have the rights to.

8. Our rights

We can remove any track, limit or close any account, or change or end the service, at any time and without notice. That includes when we think these terms have been broken, when we receive a copyright notice, or when the demo ends.

9. No warranty

The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. Results can contain errors or artifacts, and files can be lost. Keep your own copies of anything that matters to you. Nuvam AI isn't liable for any loss or damage from using the service or its results.

10. Your information

We store your email address and access key to run your account, and we record how much you practice so we can apply the practice-time allowance. Voice recordings are handled as described in section 3. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13 (see section 5). We use this only to run the service and to contact you about it if needed. We don't sell it.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, USA, except where the law where you live gives you rights that can't be waived.

12. Changes and contact

We may update these terms, and the date above shows the latest version. Continuing to use VocalGuru after a change means you accept the updated terms. Questions: dmakhija@nuvam.ai.
